Greensboro College Presents Sculpture Exhibit “Departed” Oct. 1-26
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College’s Department of Art presents the sculpture exhibit “Departed,” by Adrienne Grafton, Oct. 1-26 in the Anne Rudd Galyon Gallery in Cowan Humanities Building on campus.
Regular exhibit hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. The artist will appear at a closing reception from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
Grafton, who lives in western Pennsylvania, received her M.F.A. in Metalsmithing/Jewelry from East Carolina University in 2005. Personal memories and the emotions these memories evoke inspire her work. This particular exhibit will feature sculptures influenced by her emotional state following her mother’s passing.
The exhibit is being offered in conjunction with the 40th Annual Tri-State Sculptors Association Conference, being held in Greensboro.

The program, with individual attention to students, combines classic art principles with the liberal-arts foundations of diverse branches of inquiry, including both science and the humanities, so that students can incorporate as much of the world as possible into their own art-making.
