Greensboro College Professor Will Give Presentation Oct. 4 at Academic Conference
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Heather Chacón, an assistant professor of English and director of the First Year Composition Program at Greensboro College, will make a presentation Oct. 4 at an academic conference at the University of Kentucky.
Chacón will give her presentation, titled “Charles Brockden Brown’s Eastern Transference,” at the Charles Brockden Brown 12th Biennial Conference, “Dissent of the Governed, c18-c21.” Her presentation is part of a roundtable on settler colonialism.
Brown, a novelist, historian and editor from Philadelphia, is widely considered the most important novelist in the early history of the United States until James Fenimore Cooper.
Chacón holds a B.A. and M.A. from Ball State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky. She joined Greensboro College’s full-time faculty in 2015.
