Department of Theatre

We aim to provide students with a strong theatre foundation while encouraging them to grow and succeed in their chosen concentration.

Students undertake a curriculum that integrates in-class learning with production work for a well-rounded understanding of the different facets of theatre. We encourage students to seek more by challenging and questioning why they want to be artists, and how their work will change the world we live in. After completing their chosen program, students will be prepared to enter the professional world, graduate school, intern with theatre and arts programs, teach theatre, or apply their learned skills to pursue other professions.

Majors and Minors

  • Theatre Major

The Theatre Department offers a practical liberal arts degree in Theatre. Course work is integrated with production work, allowing the techniques discovered in the classroom and studio setting to be applied in rehearsals and performances both on campus and at summer theatres around the country through internships and apprenticeships. Whether preparing for graduate school, theatre conservatory or immediately entering the profession, Greensboro College theatre majors have the tools and experience to land a dream job after graduation. Students can choose from a variety of concentrations while earning a B.A., B.S., or B.F.A. degree.
