Adjunct Instructor of Intercultural Com & Media

JOB SUMMARY:
Greensboro College, in partnership with the Sichuan Film and Television University in Chengdu, China, is seeking a dedicated and qualified adjunct professor for the Fall 2024 semester. This unique opportunity involves collaborative teaching and cultural exchange, providing an enriching academic experience for both students and faculty. There will be potential in-country work with participating university.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: A minimum of a master’s degree in fields such as international or cultural studies, media and film, applied linguistics, or related disciplines is required. A PhD is preferred.
Experience: Candidates must have demonstrable experience in cross-cultural relationship development, particularly in an educational setting. Proficiency in teaching within international contexts, whether domestic or foreign, is necessary.
Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of comparative culture and media studies is essential. Expertise in film or digital media studies is highly valued.
Teaching Abilities: Candidates should exhibit proficiency in teaching courses related to language and culture, culture and media, study skills, as well as international film and cinematography.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Coursework: Experience or coursework in digital media arts is desirable and considered an asset for the role.
International Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with a background that includes living or working abroad, contributing to a deeper understanding of cross-cultural dynamics.
Language Skills: Knowledge of second language acquisition processes will be an advantageous asset for the role. Language skills in Mandarin Chinese are a plus.
