Collection: Academic Programs

  • Biology Major

    The biology major is designed for students interested in life science careers, including medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, biological research, field biology, life science education, scientific writing, sales and marketing (of pharmaceuticals, laboratory equipment, etc.), and more. Students majoring in biology will select one of three concentrations: Biomedical Sciences, Wildlife Conservation, or Integrative Biology.


  • Chemistry Major

    Students in chemistry will learn the fundamental principles governing the chemical world while developing problem-solving skills and gaining experience in various laboratory techniques. This major fits those with an interest and aptitude in mathematics, the chemistry of biological processes, and attention to detail, especially in a lab.


  • Mathematics Major

    Students will use logic and problem-solving skills to analyze mathematical concepts and recognize patterns, then apply what they’ve learned to their own mathematical research projects, presentations, and internships.


  • Exercise and Sport Studies Major

    This major is for students with a passion for sports and a desire to work in an athletic-related environment, either on the business side or directly involved with physical activity. Available concentrations include Sports Management, which focuses on athletic direction, sport ownership, and team organization.


  • Health and Physical Education Major

    Students should choose this area of study if they enjoy enhancing the lives of children through teaching and coaching.


  • Health Science Major

    Designed to prepare students interested in working in upper-level athletics, rehabilitation, or health care, this major is ideal for students with a natural desire to help people through health and wellness and learn how the body works.


  • Philosophy and Ethics Minor

    Naturally curious students get an introduction to the fundamental questions that have driven all human inquiry, and examine the schools of thought that have arisen throughout history.


  • Biblical Studies Minor

    Students can take a variety of courses in Old and New Testament that provide a foundation for interpreting scripture.


  • Religion Minor

    Like its major, this minor in religion can be shaped by a wide study of religious topics, or it can be centered on courses designed to prepare the student for Christian ministry.


  • Religion Major

    Students have the opportunity for faith formation and to build a solid foundation for a life in ministry, even if that ministry takes place outside of the context of the church.
