Greensboro College Chapter of Criminal Justice Honor Society Inducts New Members

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College’s chapter of the Alpha Phi Sigma national honor society in criminal justice has inducted three new undergraduate members and a faculty member.

The undergraduate members are:

  • Keegan Bickel, a senior criminal justice major from Hopatcong, N.J.
  • Elizabeth Carr, a junior criminal justice major from Salem, Va.
  • Garrett Kidd, a junior criminal justice major from Siler City, N.C.

Nicolás Eilbaum, a visiting assistant professor of sociology and criminal justice, was inducted as a faculty member. Eilbaum joined the Greensboro College faculty in 2017. He holds a B.A. from the University of Buenos Aires and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Cornell University.

Alpha Phi Sigma was founded in 1942 at Washington State University and is affiliated with both the Association of College Honor Societies and the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. Greensboro College’s Mu Alpha chapter was chartered in 2012.

Inductees must have declared a major, minor or equivalent in criminal justice or a related field, have completed three full-time semesters or its equivalent, have a minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale and a minimum GPA of 3.2 in courses in criminal justice-related fields with at least four courses in the criminal-justice field, and rank in the top 35% of their class..

Founded in 1838 and located in downtown Greensboro, the college enrolls about 1,000 students from 29 states and territories, the District of Columbia, and seven foreign countries in its undergraduate liberal-arts program and four master’s degree programs. Joshua currently studies astrodynamics at Virginia Tech University and is an Engineering Mechanics Ph.D. Candidate.
