Greensboro College Chapter of Sociology Honor Society Inducts Three New Members

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College chapter of the Alpha Kappa Delta national honor society in sociology has inducted three new members.

They are:

  • Emily Anne Lewis, a senior psychology major and sociology minor from Fredericksburg, Va.
  • Mary JoAnne Lowe, a junior political science, sociology, and criminal-justice major from Ararat, N.C.
  • Justin Thomas Matthews, a junior criminal justice and sociology major from Jamestown, N.C.

Inductees must:

  • Be a declared sociology major or have a demonstrated interest in sociology.
  • Be at least a junior.
  • Rank in the top 35% of their academic class.
  • Have completed at least four sociology classes at the institution with a grade-point average in those courses of 3.0 or better.

Alpha Kappa Delta was founded in 1920 at the University of Southern California and now has more than 650 chapters. It is affiliated with the American Sociological Society. Greensboro College’s Omicron chapter was established in 1991.
