Greensboro College History Honor Society Inducts Six New Members
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College’s chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the national honor society in history, has inducted six new members. They are:
- David Morrison Allen, a special education/adapted curriculum major and history minor from Cary, N.C.
- Keegan Thomas Cordell, a history/political science major from Chapel Hill, N.C.
- Ethan Lanning Mize, a history major from Lexington, N.C.
- Diana Selena Robles Perales, a history/political science major from Greensboro, N.C.
- William Turner, a history/political science major from Horse Shoe, N.C.
- Ethan Robert Wilson, a history major from Browns Summit, N.C.
Phi Alpha Theta, the nation’s oldest disciplinary honor society, was founded in 1921 at the University of Arkansas. Greensboro College’s chapter was chartered in 2001 and is advised by Professor Michael Sistrom.
Inductees must have earned at least 12 credit hours in the discipline, with a grade-point average of 3.1 or better in those courses and an overall grade-point average of 3.0 or better. They also must rank in the top 35 percent of their class.
Greensboro College provides a liberal arts education grounded in the traditions of the United Methodist Church and fosters the intellectual, social, and, spiritual development of all students while supporting their individual needs.
Founded in 1838 and located in downtown Greensboro, the college enrolls about 1,000 students from 29 states and territories, the District of Columbia, and seven foreign countries in its undergraduate liberal-arts program and six master’s degree programs.
