Greensboro College Presents Art Major Morgan Staley’s Senior Exhibition, “Priceless Embodiment,” Opening April 26

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College art major Morgan Staley presents his senior art exhibition, “Priceless Embodiment,” April 26-May 11, in the Anne Rudd Galyon Gallery in Cowan Humanities Building on campus.

The exhibition opens with a reception, 3-5 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at which the public may discuss with Staley how his thought process led to this body of work.

Regular exhibit hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays through May 11. Both the reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.

Staley, a native of Ramseur, N.C., travels about, imaginatively, to extend several experimental techniques in watercolor, acrylic and mixed media. His exhibition focuses on the concept of temporary escape, delving into notions of escape and surreal dreamscapes. Staley asks, provocatively, “How far can humans go when wanting to get away from reality for a while?”

Greensboro College’s Department of Art offers the B.A. or B.S. in Art and the B.A. in Art Education.

The program, with individual attention to students, combines classic art principles with the liberal-arts foundations of diverse branches of inquiry, including both science and the humanities, so that students can incorporate as much of the world as possible into their own art-making.
