Greensboro College Reappoints Two Program Directors

Neill CleggGREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College has reappointed Deirdre Sommerlad-Rogers as director of the Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning and Neill Clegg as director of the George Center for Honors Studies.

Each will serve a second three-year term.

The CETL works with Greensboro College faculty to make them stronger teachers by helping them discover, create, implement and learn about effective pedagogy through workshops and lectures.

The George Center provides specialized instruction for competitive students, culminating in an Honors thesis delivered during the student’s senior year. Successful completion of the Honors course sequences constitutes a minor in Humanities.

Sommerlad-Rogers, the 2017-2018 Moore Professor of Sociology and chair of the Department of Sociology, also serves as director of the criminal-justice program.

She holds an A.A. from DeAnza College, a B.A. and M.A. from San Jose State University, and a Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University. She joined the Greensboro College faculty in 2011.

Clegg, associate professor of music, holds a B.M. and M.M. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He joined the Greensboro College faculty in 1989.
