Greensboro College Selects Jerry Fisk as New Director of Athletics

Greensboro College is happy to announce that Jerry Fisk has been named as the college’s new Director of Athletics, effective summer 2024.

Fisk comes to Greensboro College from Fredonia State University (Fredonia, New York) where he served as the Director of Athletics and Recreation since 2017. As a proven leader with significant athletic administration experience, Fisk provided strategic actions and leadership for Athletics and Recreation, all while remaining a fierce advocate for staff members and student-athletes. This included implementing various initiatives to enhance the student-athlete experience, carrying out marketing and communication projects, setting philanthropy and fundraising goals, as well as being a member of the NADIIIAA Educational Committee and NCAA Women’s Basketball Region III RAC.

Prior to Fredonia State, Fisk served as the Assistant Director of Athletics and Facilities and Events at Elmira College. His duties included being the primary administrator for Elmira College’s flagship sports of field hockey, men’s and women’s hockey, and baseball. He also worked extensively in athletic fundraising and budgeting at Elmira College, where he increased the overall athletics fundraising by 125% through local community cultivation and engagement.

Spanning over 13 years, Fisk’s career has also taken him to stops at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, CITIG Consulting Firm, the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, Notre Dame College (in South Euclid, Ohio), the Southern States Athletic Conference, as well as the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received his master’s degree in Sport Administration.

“With Kim Strable’s retirement, Greensboro College was looking for a unique set of skills, abilities, experience, and personality to continue the upward trend of our athletic department following Kim’s long and legendary service,” says Greensboro College President, Dr. Lawrence D. Czarda. “I am confident that we have found just the right successor in Jerry Fisk. His career path, experience as a student-athlete, education, accomplishments, and commitment to intercollegiate athletics are a great match for Greensboro College now and for the future. His leadership and work ethic are traits that the college will benefit from in many ways. We welcome Jerry to The Pride as he joins us this summer.”

As a native of New York State, Fisk enjoys reading, watching college sports, and playing golf. He looks forward to joining the Pride, as he noted, “I would like to thank President Czarda, Vice President of Admissions, Randy Doss, and the search committee for the opportunity to serve at Greensboro College. I was very impressed with the staff and student-athletes that I met on campus, and I look forward to working alongside each of them serving Pride Athletics.”

“I loved the GC Honors program and Greensboro College. I felt safe and a sense of genuine belonging at the college. I worked closely with my thesis advisor and professors who helped inspire me to define my path and passion of interest. That path has led me to my doctoral studies in Engineering Mechanics.”
