Greensboro College Student Development Recognizes Residence Life and Student Activities Leaders

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College today recognized 11 students for their leadership in residence life and student activities during its annual Student Leadership Awards Convocation.

They are:

Student Ambassador of the Year: Samantha Claudine Whipp, a sophomore mathematics education major from Montgomery Village, Md.
Residence Life Karen Pierre Perseverance Award: Haley Danielle McAdams, a sophomore music education major from Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
Resident Advisor of the Year: Samuel David Walker, a sophomore theatre/acting major from Raleigh, N.C.
Alpha Xi Delta Member of the Year: Macy Maureen Smith, a sophomore theatre/costume major from St. Petersburg, Fla.
Religious Life Leadership Award and the Christakos Altruism Award: Abigail Elizabeth Bügger, a senior religion and Liberal Studies major from Raleigh, N.C.
Religious Life Leadership Award: Tyler Michael Smith, a sophomore religion and Exercise & Sport Study major from Siler City, N.C.
Pride Leader of the Year: Rebecca Lynn Hougas, a senior theatre/directing & stage management major from Shelby, N.C.
Most Improved Pride Leader of the Year: Charles Hector Cruz, a junior theatre/directing and stage management major from Robbins, N.C.
Most Impactful Pride Leader: Chadwick Earl Massenburg, a senior health sciences major from Raleigh, N.C.
Student Government Association Officer of the Year: Chance Austin Bryant, a sophomore biology major from Elizabethtown, N.C.
Daphne Smith Ginnings Award: Decima Alexcia Michaels, a junior sociology major from Greensboro, N.C.

The Rev. Dr. Robert Brewer, an assistant professor of religion and the college’s chaplain, was recognized as Student Advisor of the Year. The college’s chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness was recognized as Student Organization of the Year. And Casino Night was honored as Program of the Year.
