Greensboro College Theatre Presents Neil Simon’s “Laughter on the 23rd Floor” April 19-22
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College Theatre presents Neil Simon’s comedy “Laughter on the 23rd Floor” Thursday-Sunday, April 19-22, in the Gail Brower Huggins Performance Center in Odell Building on campus.
Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, April 19-21, and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22. Tickets are $10 and may be reserved by calling 336-272-7102, ext. 5242, or emailing tickets@greensboro.edu.
The acclaimed comedy, directed by assistant professor of theatre Jo Hall, is Inspired by the playwright’s youthful experience as a staff writer on Sid Caesar’s early TV hit “Your Show of Shows.” It is full of comic drama as the harried show writers frantically scramble to top each other with gags while competing for the attention of star madman “Max Prince.”
Greensboro College’s Department of Theatre seeks to provide a strong foundation in theatre while allowing the student to emphasize in a particular area such as directing, acting, or arts administration.
The coursework is integrated with the production work to provide a better understanding of the many facets of the theatre. Required participation on stage or backstage on all theatre productions allows the techniques and theories that are examined in the classroom and the laboratory to be tested in a performance setting.
