UNC Physical-Education Professor to Speak at Greensboro College Feb. 27 in “Leadership Fitness” Series
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Fred Mueller, a longtime professor of physical education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will speak at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, on “Optimum Health” as part of the School of Business’s “Leadership Fitness” class.
The event, in 214 Proctor Hall East, is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.
Mueller has been a professor at UNC-CH since 1974 and chaired the Department of Exercise and Sport Science from 1995 to 2005.
He has done extensive academic research on injuries in athletics and published numerous works on the topic. His work has been extremely influential in changing rules and improving high school coaching accreditation to better protect high school athletes.
He holds a B.A. in education, an M.Ed., and Ph.D. in education, all from UNC-CH.
