New Student Residence Life Checklist
Once your $250 deposit is paid, we will automatically take you through the housing process. You do not need to apply for housing separately.
Greensboro College requires all students to live on campus unless they meet one of the following stipulations:
- 21 years or older
- Earned 60 credit hours
- Married
- Commuting from a permanent home address and living within a 50-mile radius.
Most of these documents can be completed on your Pride Page.
Sign up for GC Alert
GC Alert is a campus communication system that alerts those who are signed up of any emergency or weather-related alerts that are in campus vicinity.
Complete Roommate Questionnaire
For incoming students to complete to be matched with a roommate that fits their preferences. Also, for students to make a request for a roommate that they would like to live with. Please note that both students must request each other to be housed together.
Sign Housing Contract
ALL students are required to sign the Housing Contract as this explains our on-campus residency requirement, explains that they will follow all campus policies and procedures, and lastly shares the current rates for housing on campus for that academic year.
Complete FERPA Form
The FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) form allows us to share academic, personal, and financial information with the people you have listed on this form.
Complete Off-Campus Documents
- Commuting from Home – For students who enrolled from an address within 50 miles of Greensboro College and wish to live at that address full time. (Enrollment information will be verified.)
- Fill out the residency verification form
- Age Requirement: A student is or will be 21 before October 1st (for Fall) or February 1st (for Spring).
- Fill out the housing release form
- Earned Credit Hours – A student will have earned 60 (or more) semester credit hours by the start of the requested semester. (Your transcript will be verified).
- Until students meet one or more of the criteria listed above, they will be required to live on campus for at least two years. Incoming students are not allowed to make an appeal to live off campus if they do not meet the criteria listed above.
Complete N.C. Residency Verification Form
If you are a North Carolina resident, you need to complete the N.C. residency verification form to verify that you live within the state.
